Empire (Fox)

Nope, adjusted up to 5.8 match last week.

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2015/03/12/wednesday-final-ratings-empire-csi-cyber-adjusted-down/374047/

Maybe it's finally settled up rather then settled down.

The flat ratings are probably attributable to the annual ratings dip that happens for the majority of shows in the week after Daylight Savings Time rolls in. Only in Empire's case, there wasn't any dip, just steady ratings. It will probably rise for next week's finale. A rating of >6.0 in the demo wouldn't be surprising at all.

Empire has become must-see TV for my friends. We've been glued to the screen in rapt delight, mixed with shock & awe. Next week we're going to have a viewing party to celebrate the insanity and mourn the fact that Empire will be gone until next Fall. Bet Fox gives it a longer season to capitalize on its popularity. Til then the Cookie Monsters are just gonna have to chill.

Ratings: ‘Empire’ Strikes Back With 16 Million Viewers for Season 2 Premiere

Fox hip-hop soap opera dominates Wednesday night with a 6.5 rating in key 18-49 demographic

“Empire” is back — and it has returned with a vengeance.

The Fox hip-hop soap opera scored 16 million total viewers on its Wednesday Season 2 premiere, hauling in a 6.5 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. That viewer number may not be quite as massive as the Season 1 finale’s gaudy 16.7 million, but it is way up from its series debut. The 6.5 demo rating matches the freshman year finale.

The Season 1 premiere of Lee Daniels‘ “Empire” had netted a very strong 3.8 demo rating and 9.9 million viewers, per final Live Plus Same Day Nielsen numbers. It doesn’t take a mathematician to see that last night’s sophomore start nearly doubled that demo number, and was a huge improvement among total audience.
