Still somewhat disappointing for Selma. But just fantastic for Taken 3. 2015 releases have over performed so far (Selma is 2014). At least this year, January isn't completely boring at the box office!

That's a really strong opening for Taken 2. It could have easily collapsed like something like The Hangover 3. The terrific trailer probably helped it a lot

FOX did a fantastic job marketing this thing. Something WB failed to do with Hangover 3. Also, it wasn't opening against F&F6. That helps.
