unfortunately result in China will not be epic

San Andreas may make 20-25M OD, 130-150M OW and 250-300M total, all in yuan.

about ~ 40-48m $

its not going to come close to 2012 in most markets. I think 300-350m OS is the likely range at this point.

2012 is not a good comparison with SA.

2012's budget was 200m while SA's budget was 132m.

A better comparison is The Day After Tomorrow, which had a 125m budget and made 357m OS.

SA will end up close to that OS, and is going to be fine. ;)

TDAT was 11 years ago. The budget and especially the enormously changed O/S markets are not comparable.

But SA isn't the event film 2012 was and isn't on the same scale visually.   $450-500m WW is very good for it.

Anything over $400m WW is great. The budget is just $110m.

Hard to imagine a WB summer blockbuster with that budget, to be honest. But anyway... yeah, it's a success but it'll finish more than 100M behind 11 years old The Day After Tomorrow. With 3D, IMAX, China and inflation.
