Not really.  I'm not over the moon about Birdman, but man Boyhood is insanely overrated.

Eddie Redmayne definitely deserved it imo. He was great in the film. I get that people wanted Keaton to win because he's been around longer and he's old and it may be his last chance

TGBH winning best picture would have been great and a pleasant surprise.

2 films that weren't even nominated for BP that I think should've won over Birdman,  Nightcrawler and Gone Girl.  Hell, throw in LOCKE as well.  #crappyoscars

BIRDMAN speaks to a lot of Hollywood... Struggling with your passion project, all that self-loathing, but the show must go on, and finally fame and new recognition, etc etc etc.

I also don't think WHIPLASH is great. It was good... I don't get the love, though.

yeah several times he even came to my high school prom, he was the 'guest of honour'.

 

Anyway I'm off, it's 5.30 here, I can't believe i actually stayed up all this time. Oh well. I'm glad Eddie won and I'm glad Whiplash overachieved.

I'm reasonably happy with the Birdman win. It was my second favourite of the BP nominees but it was obvious Whiplash wouldn't take it.

 

Still raw over the BH6 win though. I even don't get why I invest myself in the Best Animated Feature anymore. It's always the overrated Western stuff that gets nominated and wins. And the one year Western Animation is genuinely leaps and bounds ahead, they snub LEGO movie for the nom and HTTYD2 for the win.

 

That said, if they nominateThe Boy and the Beast this year, I will instantly forgive them for everything.

Well, at least they weren't completely ignored. They both recieved at least one nomination.

But yeah they both should've been nominated for more.
