Birdman was pretty bad. Especially the third act. All loose aspects were good but it did not come together, mainly due to the cinematography which was quite frankly really annoying.

 

Having said that, it's clearly the frontrunner for BP.

It'll be either Birdman or Budapest for Ensemble. Budapest winning would make things even more interesting.

Birdman actually has more going for it then Boyhood if you think about it.
Other then the fact it has no editing nom, it has:

A bigger studio that has had bigger success.

Most noms (well tied at least)
Director has been nominated for (okay so has Boyhood but its a bit different here)

More known cast.

Setting is more relatable to the Academy. (note I said the Academy for a reason )
