It is opening in fourth over here behind Inside Out's 3rd weekend, Ted 2's second weekend and MMXXL, also opening today. For the sake of this movie I am glad we are not the rule, but the exception

Last week they also said Ted 2 was fourth on OD lmao. Impossible. 

 

Anyway, Terminator is now in first thanks to a really strong Friday and Saturday but it was 100% sure not first on Thursday.

Early OS numbers are pretty solid actually. It still has a very good chance reaching 300m+ OS (including Japan and China).

then it could be possible to have a sequel. Although, very unlikely right now.

 

the budget was 150 million

 

=300 million to break even and 400 total would be good.

 

Although, far cry from what a Terminator franchise should be.

 

This film reminds me of Superman Returns

 

The film returned to it's ROOTS and feel of the original. However, different characters just didn't work well. 

 

But, I did like it.

We are a different market. Kids movies are gigantic here. Star power is also pretty big. The Ugly Truth and Public Enemies opened in August, where most people are on vacations. Couples Retreat and Planet 51 were both beasts over the Christmas holidays. Fame and G-Force had a full October all to themselves.

The fate of this movie is definitely not written yet. Hoping that this can get close to $500m WW. At this point, that is a possibility although most likely a long shot.
