Olive
Wow, $39M on Monday, barely dropped from last Monday. edit: 42M? increased? Edited December 29, 2015 by The Good Olive
Purple Minion
Those are preliminary estimates based on Forbes numbers, the actuals should come up soon. EDIT: Forgot that the weekend was underestimated. Monday OS was US$39.4M. Deadline: Coming off of a weekend that saw it cross the $1B global mark in hyper-drive, Star Wars: The Force Awakens added $39.4M at the overseas box office on Monday. That brings the international cume to just shy of $600M at $589.7M. Edited December 29, 2015 by Purple Minion

Elessar
I think we are underestimating its OS potential. If we take the first Hobbit for example, it made more in the last week of the year then the week before. It's not apples and apples since a couple of markets didn't open day and date but let's assume TFA makes close to what it did the week before. It would be at around $800m by the end of Sunday. Hobbit did 1.44x more after that point (excluding China), if we multiply that with $800m, we get about $1150m. And again, that's without China. Even if TFA doesn't quite reach $800m after Sunday, let's say $770m, that multiplier would give it $1100m.

I have the feeling that many people think this will collapse by next Monday and that is far from reality.

Aristis
Germany will be over 80mio$ after sunday, thats obvious. Maybe even 85mio$. I think that shows how big this week is (bigger than the second weekend)
Purple Minion
Early estimates: Bound to reach $600M in the US today (29-30 Tuesday @giteshpandya) + another 32-35 OS. Also crossed $100M on IMAX theatres (@thrglobal).
Renaud originel
here's the international admissions of Star wars vs Titanic vs Avatar showdowns updated I think TFA looks like the Phantom menace box office in Europe. I went to the cinema yesterday and it was sold out again for Star Wars ( but it's the top of parisian cinema in admissions- In Paris there are 3 main theaters for admissions). In France the goal to break the record for the Star Wars franchise is reached it's a smash hit. In Germany the goal is to reach the score of the Phantom Menace... In England it's possible to do better. Spain will be far from the phantom menace but the spanish market has collapsed since 1999. In Italy it's the same but TFA do very much better than the phantom menace. http://www.boxofficestory.com/news-cinema-c25607670
