Did DH2 had a holiday on it's 3rd Monday? Because it made 22.8m OS. That is a huge difference compared to SW, especially when SW passed it in dailies last week.

Where do you get the daily box office gross for overseas? Mojo only tracks daily gross for domestic.

DH2 had summer weekdays and thus were high. TFA so far had weekdays boosted by holidays, now they will behave like normal.

Man, TFA couldn't possibly have come at a worst time exchange rates wise. Even the Yuan which is pretty much the only currency that had been strengthening vs the dollar in the past few years is now at a five-year low and the PBOC keeps accelerating the depreciation.

Indeed. It is not the worst moment ever, but one of the worst for sure.

US = Wednesday $6.2M

In individual markets, TFA has now grossed $150.5M in the UK, its continued strongest offshore play. That puts it within roughly $11M of Skyfall, the market’s biggest ever title. The rest of the Top 10 are Germany ($87M), France ($72M), Japan ($58.7M), Australia ($54.1M), Spain ($29.3M), Italy ($26.3M), Mexico ($25.2M), Russia ($23.9M) and Korea ($23.5M).

Mon,Tue,Wed Dom-OS this week,

Jan 4: 8.0, 14.5
Jan 5: 7.9, 13.0
Jan 6: 6.2, 13.1

35.35% domestic, 64.65% overseas. I'd guess later legs will be better domestic than OS putting the ratio from here to the end at more like 40/60 from existing markets maybe?  IDK.

Supposing a 40/60 ratio from here to the end, a domestic total of ___ would give an overseas less China total of ___

925, 1050
950, 1090
975, 1125

1000, 1165

Looks like TFA won't beat the other two in any more countries, other than China.

If (and this is a big if) TFA breaks $400m in China, it will be the #1 film ever in the world's top 3 markets, but nowhere else of significance.

Don't expect SW to break out in China. Presales are weak, and beating Titanic or Avatar's gross in China seems unlikely.

It seems based on people waiting for cheaper ticket price special offers (that are nowadays very typical) a lot of people waited to the last moment to pre-order their tickets (Disney didn't do that = all full price)

It picks up rather fastly for the moment

6-7hours till midnights start there....

still $150M is the target.

around $120~130M

presale is better than expected, total presale is close to T5(¥176M  OD,Sunday). The number above is just a part of online presale.Disney only has discount tickets on Gewara.com.The price is very cheap.(only ¥9 each). That's why presale growing So FAST on Gewara today.

with more showtimes,TFA will have stronger evening show on Saturday.¥200M OD is within reach.Discount tickets Sometimes Does magical bump up before OD.Wonder the special ticket will keep so cheap or just for OD.

Buzz in China is not very strong.Wom might be mixed for most people.
