2017 & Beyond Discussion Thread | Is 2017 (Summer) Bigger than 2016?

Recommended Posts

Much more excited for 2017 than 2016!

2017:

Prometheus 2 probably

Skull Island

Apes 3

Pacific Rim 2

The Jungle Book: Origins

The Croods 2

Ghost in the Shell

More likely the other Alien movie.

It's more than likely a feast or famine year.

Episode 8  is gonna create new standards for flop bars :

Under 700, huge disappointment.

Under 600M, flop wars.

Under 500m, disaster, cancel Lucasfilms altogether.

I honestly don't think it will drop that much, it ended on way too much of a cliffhanger, we are craving to actually see Luke this time, and even people who hated TFA will probably check it out at least once. and the timing is pretty much perfect too. Even if it did gross like $300m less they would still be swimming in money, just give me a good movie.

Honestly not too interested in 2017

Fast 8? Pirates 5? Transformers 5?  DM3? These movies don't seem interesting and their box office performances are fairly predictable as well.

Still, there should be a few interesting box office trajectories to follow...

So I was doing so calculations and it looks like 8 out of the top 10 highest grossing films of the 2010s will be released by Disney.

Good. I dream of a day when only Disney movies are made. People who do not like Disney are thrown into work camps to make cheap labor for Disney films.
