Kvikk Lunsj
Avengers 2 previews > 50SOG previews. It should have higher previews than 50 shades.
grim22
Warner Bros. reports that JUPITER ASCENDING earned $1.0M from Thursday night shows. #JupiterAscending — BoxOffice (@BoxOffice) February 6, 2015
CJohn
Into the Storm did 800K, Let's Be Cops did 1.2M, Tamy did 1.3M... I don't see it going much above 20M.
filmlover
I wouldn't be shocked if Jupiter ends up coming in around 16 million....just a complete embarrassment. The reviews are brutal and I don't think Tatum is a draw for dudes wanting action - they see him as a male version of Megan Fox (eye candy for the ladies and nothing else). Women won't want to see Jupiter in high numbers because Kunis is not a draw. Justin Timberlake was the draw in her romcom. And you came to all of these various conclusions...how?
Jandrew
So Jupiter Ascending 600k midnights and Spongebob 1.4M midnights it is Dammit Grim, I took this literally.

CoolioD1
this picture made me think; if Jupiter Ascending was a 90s movie would nicolas cage be the eddie redmayne or the channing tatum? Edited February 6, 2015 by CoolioD1
DAJK
1M. I guess that's not too bad. It's not like we were expecting much more. An opening between 18-21M seems inevitable now.

4815162342
He'd play twins. One would bee Tatum and Been crossed with Con Air, the other Balem Castor Troy style.
CJohn
Two movies that combined costed 270M might not make 27M combined this weekend. Let that sink in.
rockNrollaDIM
So... the headline is gonna be Jupiter Descending, right? Also, go SpongeBob! If I still smoked pot I would totally get stoned and go see this.

Reminds me of the weekend RIPD opened, when Mojo reported that movies with combined budgets of over 300 million (Red 2, Turbo, RIPD) only opened to a combined 53million (approx). Said movies were left for dead by their studios after sitting on the shelf for a while (and judging by the awful reviews both are getting, for good reason too), so no surprise.

dudalb
So... the headline is gonna be Jupiter Descending, right? Also, go SpongeBob! If I still smoked pot I would totally get stoned and go see this. Definently. Most people wrote off Seventh Son a long time ago because of it's incredibly troubled history (being on the shelf for over two years ,having release dates changed 3 times, and having Warners glad to pawn it off onto Universal are not good signs) but there was at least a little uncertainity about Jupiter. But it's three big budget strikes in a row now for the Wachowskis, and think the only way they will get another big budget anytime soon is for them to swallow their pride and do another Matrix film, and just accept the heat and ridicule that will come their way because of their constant statements they would NEVER do another Matrix movie.
