My wife and I enjoyed the first on Netflix but may have to go to the theater for this one.

She needs a non-comic/sci-fi/action film night out away from the baby. Grandma is always up to babysit!

It helps a bit that so far the only graded reviews come from the UK.  Just a bit.

UK reviewers are world renowned for having better taste than everyone else.

What does that matter? Good reviews are good reviews no matter where they're coming from.

Apart from what they think are “UK” films. I felt tricked after seeing Spectre. They loved the shit.

I'm pretty sure SPECTRE didn't start off with the ridiculously glowing reception this movie is. Variety and THR were also real high on it.

Studio Canal is despertaly trying to find a way to legally sever the relationship with the Weinstein company. Probably have their lawyers working on it 24/7.

Looks pretty bad to have a kids filmed being released by a studio with a sex scandal going on right now.

You know what? They should. I don't want this film to fail just because of Weinstein.

Better yet, they should find a way to just distribute this themselves. They've done it before (2014 RoboCop) and they can do it again.

They really could just go "Fuck off, Weinstein. We're not gonna promote your label." Would any judge dare to stop them?

Yes.  If it was that easy to get out of their contract it would already be done

It might not be that easy, but it still probably isn't impossible.

I hope it becomes a big hit so that Sally has a banner year with Maudie reviews, The Shape of Water reviews and hopefully great boxoffice and Paddington (reviews, fingers crossed for boxoffice too).

I know most of us probably aren't avid readers of the Paddington books, but I think it's worth mentioning that the final one will be released next year. Michael Bond passed away over the summer.

Edit: Also, shit, this is still at a 9.0 average rating with 28 reviews in. Pretty much a lock to finish in upper-tier Pixar territory.
