It looks like from this and his other tweet on WS that he's trying to go for some comparison of superstar careers in decline but that narrative doesn't quite apply.

Well, that remains to be seen but Will Smith hasnt had a Tom Cruise moment yet. I dont think GA (americans) are as tired of him like they are with Depp. They may be tired of his kids, but not Smith.

Expected weekend projections. 22M for Focus, 10-14M for Lazarus: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-will-smiths-focus-778282

Will Smith and Margot Robbie's romantic caper Focus is winning the Friday box office race in North America for a weekend debut in the $22 million range, easily enough to topple Fifty Shades of Grey from the top spot after a two-week rule.

The Warner Bros. film is the first test of Smith's star power since Sony's tentpole After Earth, which bombed in summer 2013 after opening to just $27.5 million. Focus is a much smaller film, having cost $50 million to produce.

The weekend's other new nationwide offering is Relativity Studios' The Lazarus Effect, the latestmicrobudgeted horror film from Blumhouse, which produced the movie with Mosaic. Based on early Friday returns, bullish observers believe the movie could earn $12 million to $14 million, although it could still find itself in a close contest with Fifty Shades and holdover Kingsman: The Secret Service.
