I'm not sure Cinderella will make it to $200m.  $185-$190m seems right. It should be close to $150m give or take a million or 2 by  the end of the weekend.

I agree. It's daily numbers are weak, and while the movie was very well made, it's too boring and won't attract repeat viewing from it's younger (ages 4-8) audiences like Maleficent and Alice was able to do. Kids don't care if a movie is well made, just as long as it's entertaining and can hold their attention for 2 hours.

Oz multiple after 12 days 1.9

Cinderella 1.89

And that's despite stronger 2nd week competition from Divergent.

If Cinderella ends with Oz multiple it'll be at 201.

It's close but I still think it'll pull 200+

It wasn't boring to me but then again I'm not a little kid. But even so, it is still a success with the small budget.  But I agree, the movie isn't for everyone.

We'll see. Either way its still a success.

Oz's audience was only about 53-54% female....lots of males were in the audience.  Cinderella's 66% female audience is not enough for it keep up with the same kind of multiplier Oz had.  It will probably finish only at 190, despite the good reviews.

Kind of sad for Cinderella. But expected seeing the number of little kids getting restless at my showing. I think the reason the original animated movie was so huge was because of the goofy animal hi jinks whose prominence was highly reduced in this version.

You're so damn petty. It is boring to younger kids, It's more entertaining to older kids and adults.

I can't speak for other adults, but I feel a bit boring too. Everything is as expected. Of course, it is very well known fairy tale but they could put some novel things in small details. For example, I would like the fairy godmother appeared much earlier, disguised as a poor woman for help, Cindy is very kind to her.

I agree kkccoo. It's more of a dialogue movie with beautiful scenery, but nothing really exciting ever happens aside from fairy godmother part of the movie.

I remember watching Maleficent, and there was a 4 year old with her family sitting in front of me, from the beginning to the end, she was very engaged, far more than any of us adults, lol. Seeing Maleficent flying got her and a bunch of other kids super excited and bouncing up and down in their seats. It was a perfect fantasy movie for kids.

Had they added more fantasy, and less period piece in Cinderella, it would be more of an attention grabber for the little ones. That's why I fear Home will take more than half of Cinderella's potential audience this weekend, making the Cindy's drop worse than expected. But I could be wrong.
