The point of mentioning that poll with regards to "Get Hard" is that the average American adult between about 18 and 32 years old is not all that bright. And the major studios are aware of this fact, so they dumb down many of the mainstream movies accordingly.  "Get Hard" will make in its first 3 days what something like The Theory of Everything made in its first 7 or 8 weeks of release.

At this point, you're just trolling. Your argument has many fallacies, but above and beyond all of that, it's not appropriate to insult or denigrate entire groups of people simply because they choose to go see a movie you feel isn't very good. To claim that your view -- arrived at through an ad hoc appeal to authority, no less -- is the sole arbiter of judgment is completely narcissistic.

Please refrain from passing such broad value judgments on others, in particular fellow members here.

The average intelligence of the average person between 18 and 32 is the same as the average intelligence of the average person between 33 and 103.

THR now has Home at 50+ million.

 

The music-infused family film will earn an estimated $13.5 million for the day, putting in on course for a strong $50 million-plus debut in a needed win for Jeffrey Katzenberg's DreamWorks Animation. Home will have no trouble trumping Get Hard, the new R-rated comedy starring Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart.

 

Home will mark one of the best showings ever for an original title from DWA, not accounting for inflation, besting the $46 million debut of Megamind in 2010.

 

Get Hard is looking to open to $33 million-plus, a pleasing start considering the film cost $40 million to make. The comedy marks the feature directorial debut of Etan Cohen.
