Honestly I'm expecting this to be the August breakout.  Nothing else is there really and this seems like it could be more mainstream friendly than Edgar Wright's other films.

Unless something bigger moves to August, you may be right. Right now it looks like just Annabelle 2 and The Emoji movie, plus a bunch of adult-skewing films, not alot of mainstream fare.

This looks like all kinds of awesome. Too bad it really won't do all that well even if it gets the greatest reviews of all time because the general public simply doesn't care for Edgar's films. Ex: Scott Pilgrim. So much buzz and all...bombed horribly.

To be fair, Scott Pilgrim always looked like something that was gonna appeal exclusively to the Comic-Con crowd and nobody else. This looks and sounds like it's by far his most accessible movie for a mainstream audience yet.

And the International Trailer, which I think is a lot better. This one feels more like an Edgar Wright movie. On the flipside, a lot less Lily James which is bad.

The international trailer is better, and feels a lot more Edgar Wrighty, but I bet the more bland first trailer has been focused group tested and will do better for promotion.

Honestly think this could break out. August is fucking barren and this definitely seems like the most mainstream Edgar Wright film, so if they play their cards right they could have a nice little hit on their hands.

 

On the flipside it's Sony. So let's see, but I'm optimistic.
