Firstly I don't see Star Wars getting a record breaking opening day in December.

 

It will get a huge opening day however due to its fan base it will be driven far more by preview numbers. Therefore I don't see day business over 50 million.

 

Star Wars will be a massive family juggernaut just grinding away for 3 weeks during the holidays.

Batman vs Superman will likely make  a ton of money from previews. For example the cloest comparison, MOS had a great opening day however its was driven mostly by previews. 

But will beat 37M the current December OD record. Under 50M OD not happening.  So you don't think BvS can do 50M non-previews OD?

Thinking about it releasing big movies on Easter is actually a smart idea. I think Fast 7 and  B v S will make Easter a tentpole weekend now.

Friday: 67-68 million

Saturday: 45-47 million

Sunday: 30-32 million

 

Weekend: 142-147 million.
