Yeah I think it's safe to say this will the Oscar and deservedly so. No other animated film has gotten anywhere close to these type of reviews and is already winning critic Awards.

Uhhh, no. Animated film award is dedicated to Disney films so either Incredibles 2 or Wreck it Ralph 2 will get it. Most likely the former because more people watched it. Too bad though because both those movies were ass. Personally, Isle of Dogs should win but Spiderverse is a great option.

I did not see this film actually generating the hype I'm seeing. 

Spider-man or not, still felt like something that would start strong and fizzle but now...ok, let's see what happens.

What gave you the impression that this movie would fizzle? Not only is it an animated movie, but it’s being released in December, which is usually the leggiest month for movies.
