Dario Argento's horror classic is a bit of a surprising inclusion on the countdown, but it's certainly a welcome change of pace. The music is mostly composed by the Italian band Goblin, with some help from Argento himself. It's definitely a bit of eerie and otherworldly music.

It's not a terrible score, in fact its one of Zimmers good ones, but zimmer as a whole is very overrated. It has nothing to do with me not liking the movie, there's a few films I didn't like at all the made my list.

Well, you are entitled to your own opinion, even if disagree. My top 10 looked like this:

1. Shore

2. Shore

3. Zimmer

4. Jablonsky

5. Shore

6. Williams

7. Zimmer

8. Zimmer

9. Doyle

10. Williams

When Tim Burton and Danny Elfman team up, you get vibrant music that's a bit Gothic, a bit haunting, a bit whimsical, and 100% full of life. Edward Scissorhands is no exception to that style.

Non-MCU Marvel now shows up to continue the war against the Nolanites. After the first Spider-Man, Raimi and Elfman came back for a second round of action. The music in this film builds on the foundation Elfman started and adds in some chilling music for Doc Ock and some good action beats.

I'm really glad that CA:TFA made the list. It's one of those excellent Silvestri Scores that really elevates the movie.

I'm shocked that Terminator 2 didn't make the list. That Score is such a legendary Score. I am sure that there will be more excellent Scores that miss the list as we go on. I expect stuff like Love Story, Terms of Endearment, The Natural, and The Magnificent Seven to ultimately miss the list as well.

I didn't vote for TDKR.

Nor TDK for that matter. I did put in Batman Begins somewhere towards the bottom. It's a fun listen through and through.

I only voted for Inception and Interstellar. I am not that knowledgeable on scores so my list is every weak.

Thomas Newman returns with his material for the Pixar classic WALL-E. Newman uses futuristic tones and styles to convey simple but earnest music that fits the characters and setting. You'll never believe that two non-humanoid robots could fall in love until you listen to Define Dancing.

Nope, not THAT one, but the original legend itself. Max Steiner fills the film with old-school bombast, blaring horns cranked up to 11 combined with whirring string notes to give a sense of invigorating adventure.

This is the oldest film on the countdown

68. The Natural (1984)

Original Music by Randy Newman
181 Points
Top 10 Placements: 1

After Thomas Newman showing up a few times, his cousin Randy decides to elbow his way in to share some of the family glory. His music for The Natural has a lot of simple, earnest tones befitting a guy who tumbled down to nothing after a tragic incident and who slowly builds himself back up years later. The main theme for this film, like Shawshank Redemption, is one of the best pure emotional soaring themes in a film period.

One of the Big 3 Epics at the Academy Awards (those films with 11 wins), Ben-Hur features a suitably sweeping, epic, and moving film score that chronicles years of struggle, despair, war, and redemption. Miklós Rózsa uses plenty of genre staples in his music here, but he executes them damn well.

66. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982)

Original Music by James Horner
183 Points
Top 10 Placements: 1

Oh man is this film score too low. James Horner's first big foray into the film score world was with this film and he closely coordinated with director Nicholas Meyer to provide music that suited the nautical adventure style on the screen. And boy did he deliver. The great thing about Star Trek as a franchise is how the style of music for many of the films was very different, giving each one its own unique identity. We'll see more Star Trek ahead.
