jiangsen
Quota for imported films starting to run out...not much space left for Hollywood with these Japanese and French imports. terrestrial
Not sure as e.g. PK = Indian movie,... difficult to recognise the English written titles, I do not know them all Also not sure which ones count as 'art house' movies, those are not included in that 'normal' count Not sure how far complete this list is, maybe you recognise all the foreign ones? #1 to #100 http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/china/yearly/ #101 to #116 http://www.boxofficemojo.com/intl/china/yearly/?yr=2015&sort=gross&order=DESC&pagenum=2&p=.htm

terrestrial
Any plans on extending the quotas in the upcoming years ? There are some rumors about an increase in 2017 or 2018. But as the last increase shows, sometimes the rumors are either wrong or way too early expected. Important for rumors, expectations,... seems to be: As long as not officially announced by the Chinese government in one form or another, as long nothing is sure / true. Even then some details not included in said announcement might still have - unexpected for the foreign movie business - consequences Example article from April 2014 - aka possible reason for the rumors http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/china-film-import-quota-increase-696708 China signed an agreement on its current quota system with the World Trade Organization in 2012, valid for five years. This means the second round of negotiations will start around Feb. 17, 2017,

Keep us posted! yeah thanks, I've been missing this place a lot too. I've been busy with my new job and couldn't find the mental energy to track the box office. Couldn't miss the Martian's box office run though and hopefully I'll be around more regularly from now on.

Gabriel Sales
I realize que everyone ignores the opening of "The Little Prince" to 16/10. Sign That The film really has not much appeal in China, although be doing just fine in Certain Countries. Hug!
