Anyone knows if it has any chance at all of beating The Mermaid in China? I guess not right?

Oh well, very impressive. If tracking keeps this way this should be successful enough OS to justify a sequel. Fingers crossed.

There is a festival during its debut week so its in the realm of possibility.... Very small chance, but its a chance. Either way, it looks like it has a fantastic shot at $400m plus, which is probably going to be more than the rest of its international gross.

In Russia Warcraft starting on fire. Strong business even on weekday morning OMG. Second OD ever is not out of reach at this point. Theaters are cutting Alice's weekend showtimes for Warcraft ones.

So if china grosses 500m can it be > rest of the world. That would be a record for a hollywood movie I would think.

Sure. It would achieve what Kung Fu Panda 3 could not. Anyway, IMHO, to think in $500m is, for the moment, too optimistic.

I dont know. its presales are at where movies are 2 days before release or better. I would think its gonna break midnight record and OD record comfortably. Plus Olive said its playing well in smaller cities that tells me it will have better than SH movie runs. I dont think china will care about terrible reviews that the movie is getting(TF is another example). I would think 400m is happening. 500m is optimistic but can happen with a good run.

Sure. I did not want to say it can not make those $500m. Just that I prefer to be more cautious.

I see China doing around $250 million and the rest of the World doing like $300 to $350 million for a $550 to $600 million WW haul. Easily the biggest video game adaptation ever.

China number is way too low. It's going to shatter OD and midnight records so 350M is the lowest I could see with crappy legs. 400M+ with decent to good legs and potential is there that it could dethrone Mermaid.
