Yes:

1.- Legendary is now a Chinese company  and is getting 50% of the ticket sales there.

2.- The budget is not that big (160m).

3.- Most of the Warcraft fan base is in the OS market anyway.

the overall income of Universal will be around 25-30% BUT the overall Income for the movie will be a plus+25%(maybe 5+7% ticket fee) because of the legendary Wanda merge. Which means the total income per ticket FOR the movie itself will reach a Titanic 55-57%.

THis is an insane amount.Even if it makes 250-270 mill,as clear income towards the movie it will be much more than F7 391mil.

This of course counts for all legendary-Wanda movies that will be aired in China.If it makes 300 milion it will makes its money back because the 300 million IN china. for Warcraft is like 450 million for any other movie not made by legendary-Wanda.

Even if the movie makes 100 DOM and 400 OS, it will make a significant amount of  money

After Sunday it will be over 300m OS already. If China manages at least a 2x multi from it's 5 day opening then 550m OS is locked, and 600m is very likely. Huge, huge win for Universal.

Thomas Tull is a smart smart man. No wonder Pacific Rim 2 has come alive out of nowhere.

 

Would be crazy if this manages 150 DOM. Though I guess DOM doesn't really apply to LP films.

Wanda also owns a 80% share of AMC Theatres, which owns about 20% of the US screens. I wonder if Warcraft will get favorable retention in AMC theatres for its gross.

Definitely, FF7 OD was Sunday but had great legs to propel it while Warcraft has 5 day holiday opening. Warcraft Thursday's looking at 290-300M yuan and 5 day potentially 1.2B. Even if it collapses 300M dollars should happen and WOM seems good so far so it has much higher potential.
