Word is that there’s a table reading for the DC sequel on Sept. 11 with production starting Sept. 23 for a Aug. 6, 2021 release.

 

Should be getting cast announcement around that date.

The fact that it’s filming nearly two years ahead of its scheduled release date has me almost convinced that it’s so Gunn can work on GotG Vol 3 in time for a 2022 release date. I don’t know what would mean for the quality of this film, but hopefully he’ll bring his A-game.

TBF it wouldn't be the first film that shoots two years before release. Godzilla King of the Monsters was in the can by summer 2018. It means WB potentially could pull it forward a couple of months if need be.
