That could be true, but it is not too documented what the movie looked like before the meddling, it is true that even if studio change make a movie worst there is little chance they would revert it, but from what was documented is cut got is chance in test and tested against alternative one and lost. I doubt it was some great director cut they decided to meddle a lot with.

 

The issue with Suicide Squad were pretty much 1:1 with the issue with Bright.

Exactly and that's why I keep bringing up Bright. It had almost the exact same issues as Suicide Squad and yet there was no meddling by Netflix. The "WB is responsible for every single issue" people cannot explain that. Do they think that WB secretly owns Netflix and ruined Bright?

With the vast majority of the cast  back and reprising the same roles,  is impossible that this film could be considered a total reboot, this producer is drunk!

Exactly..The whole reboot and standalone talk is just for publicity and the press and so they can go easy on them. They will probably claim Birds of Prey has nothing to do with the DCEU too...

They can recast and retcon all they want ...but if a crossover opportunity comes along they will take it sooner rather than later....

Bright and Suicide Squad were equally well recieved by audiences and that's the only opinion that matters. David Ayer continues to succeed making movies people want to see.

Bright was ok but suicide squad was almost unwatchable. It needs rebooted completely.

The bad decisions came much earlier than that.   WB is the one that gave Ayers six weeks to write a screenplay ready to shoot for SS.  Not re-writes but write period.  Foolish.

I wonder how true is that rumor, I would imagine that if true a lot of the set piece were already decided / started before he even started writing the filling minutes between them ?

 

Wasn't tele that said that it was almost impossible for that rumors to be true ? He signed to write SS to the very latest in September 2014 (when it became public), shooting started in April 2015, I am not sure what 6 weeks to write a screenplay would exactly mean in that context, we want a V1 by mid November 2014 so we can start prepping the set piece ? That sound possible, but that would not exactly mean ready to shoot.
