DC slate predictions if/when they fire Ezra:

-BOP in Feb 2020

-WW84 in June 2020

-Twoicide Squad in Dec 2020

-Flash in Q1 2021

-Batman in June 2021

-Shazam 2 or Black Adam in Q3/4 2021

-uhhhhh, what else is in the works? New Gods?

This is supposed to begin filming in September so if they'll definitely move it up to Christmas if it's gonna be ready in time, especially when the biggest movie slated for that month at the moment is Cruella (which can easily co-exist with this anyway).

Literally just came here to say this. WB HAS to get this out in December 2020. HAS TO! It's wide open. Swing big.

But what if this movie is rated R? That doesn’t seem like the kind of thing you’d release over the holidays.

Eh, plenty of "darker" films have done well in December. I Am Legend, all the LOTR films. Django.

Heck, Scream 2 opened in Dec and did pretty well.

I am Legend and LotR were PG-13. As for Django, that movie did well, but it wasn’t the top movie of December 2012.

It wasn't exactly "dark" but The Wolf of Wall Street was also the furthest from being a good option to see with your whole family over the holidays and still made well over $100M as well.

James Gunn is doing this. WB probably wants something just as edgy as Guardians.

James Gunn worked on some pretty edgy movies before GotG. The live action Scooby Doo film (which he wrote) was even supposed to be rated R.
