Doesn't capture any of the nostalgia that JW did. None of the wonder, none of the excitement really. Just looks like a really dumb CGI fest. I mean, I'd be happy to be wrong but for now I'm lowering my predicts after that

150/375

I disagree. Audiences are going to eat this up, and I see this passing $400m easily.

I don't know I'm for saving the dinos. I like my dinos. I want them saved

That's cause the dinos are awesome.

I think the reason why this doesn't have much of an impact like the first JW was that the story for the first one revolved around a theme park where kids can view and interact with the dinosaurs which brings the wonder to the whole thing considering theme parks are tangible to us in the real world and most if not everyone enjoys them. This is just a natural disaster affecting the dinosaurs the wonder of a theme park filled with them and tons of guests around the park being affected from their eventual rampage has far greater wonder and excitement to it than a volcano exploding to save the dinos.

The same is true for Infinity War. It looks like the same thing again except this time they shoe horned in even more superheroes.

Nah, Infinity War has hype IMO. I know trailer views don't correlate with box office, but its numbers were NUTS. I'm thinking 225/580

TBH I imagine Universal is expecting a drop regardless, I'm sure they'd be happy with $375m domestic, OS will likely drop as well but $700-800m OS would not surprise me.

Unless this goes under 350, I can't see anyone in their right minds thinking it's a disappointment.

That's about what I'm predicting. This is going to be the lowest grosser of the three main June films.

Really makes me more confident in my Incredibles 2 over 500M prediction. I was initially nervous that it was going to have to deal with a 450-500M film coming out the following week. This'll be lucky to crack 400M.

To each their own, if the marketing gets exponentially better I can definitely see there being enough potential and interest for this to still do great business as long as the film itself is good.
