MattW
My guess: OS through Thursday: 280 Holdovers FSS: 80 US opening: 190 China opening: 100 New openings FSS: 75 = 725 total through May
23IsEverywhere
Based on the numbers I am seeing for China and US presales I predict $400.9m second ww weekend ($200m US probably a little high, $100m China probably low, $100.9m holdovers+ other new markets)

Hmm, the same markets add up to $50m for ultron so yeah, that's too high. The others are a bit conservative so over 700 still looks right.

Monday was a Holiday in a lot of countries due to Sunday being Labour day. Tuesday's drop won't be pretty. Please do research before posting crap like this. It's true that many countries had holidays on Monday because May Day fell on a Sunday. It's also true that they won't have holidays on Tuesday. Ergo you don't need an astrophysics degree to come to the conclusion that the Mon-to-Tue drop will be big.

Biggest opening weekend ever for Marvel films in term of local currency but second biggest in term of US dollar. 2/5 was replacement holiday due to Labor Day on Sunday, it has made a total of RM25mil, which is only RM5mil slightly behind BvS entire run. In term of local currency: - Biggest opening weekend for Marvel/ Disney. - Biggest opening weekend in 2016. - Third biggest opening weekend of all-time behind Fast 7 and TF4. - Third film to open above RM20mil in opening weekend together with F7 and TF4. - Currently #23 highest grossing film ahead of Hobbit 3 and behind MI: Rogue Nation.

kswiston
Iron Man 3 was over $500M overseas after its second weekend. Civil War is outpacing it in the majority of regions. $700M+ Worldwide will happen by Sunday.

Agafin
28% drop from Monday, not to shabby but expected due to the inflated Monday. Iron Man 3 did $24.3 million on its first Tuesday off a $198.4 million OW (lower than CW's) for a $242.1 million 7-day total so Civil War (temporally) lost its lead over it today. Iron Man 3 didn't open in any new territory on its first Tuesday just like Civil War so the comparison is fair (though Wednesday being Labour day slightly inflated Iron Man 3's first Tuesday). This Wednesday will act like a Friday in most territories thanks to Ascension/Children's day holiday tomorrow so it should rebound from Tuesday. That being said, Iron Man did a huge $65.6 million on its second Wednesday (thanks to China's opening and Labour day) and I'm sure CW won't come anywhere close so the gap between them will widen a little more today. Iron Man 3's second Thursday gross of $37.7 million should be reached or even exceeded thanks to the aforementioned Holidays as well as the Russian (amongst other) openings but that'll likely not not be enough to offset the huge Wednesday difference. China's opening on Friday together with a bunch of other countries should finally put it back at the same level (or above) Iron Man 3 for a similar two week total (Iron Man had $504.8 million OS at the end of its second weekend). CW's legs have been slighly worse than IM3 so far so I can see it doing similar numbers minus China ($680 to $700 million). I have no idea what China will gross but I'm reading in the Chinese thread that Ultron's numbers are expected so about $220 million (with today's exchange rates). My initial prediction of $850 to $900 million OS will be close (though it has an outside chance of doing Ultron's numbers).
