MovieMan89
Next year seems like a massive crapshoot right now (more than usual), so this is definitely mostly stabbing in the dark: 1. Finding Dory - $500m 2. Captain America: Civil War - $415m 3. Batman vs Superman - $380m 4. Star Wars: Rouge One - $360m 5. Moana- $315m 6. The Secret Life of Pets - $300m 7. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - $290m 8. X-Men: Apocalypse - $275m 9. The Bourne Betrayal - $220m 10. Ghostbusters - $215m Edited August 16, 2015 by MovieMan89
MovieMan89
I feel like BvS is going to disappoint a lot of people here. Aside from a bigger opening, I don't see why it will have a run much different than MoS. Snyder is Snyder. We know what we're getting from him at this point, and the GA tend to not be crazy about it. Asyulus
Hmm, thinking BvS or CW takes this one.

Kalo
1.Batman Vs. Superman:420 million, 2.Finding Dory:405 million, 3.Rogue One:400 million, 4.Moana:360 million, 5.Suicide Squad:335 million,6.Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them:300 million, 7.Secret Life Of Pets:275 million, 8.Captain America 3:255 million, 9.X-Men:Apocalypse:225 million, 10.Star Trek:Beyond:215 million. I can't see CA3 making that little any scenario ever, even if it didn't have Iron Man and Spider-Man in it...

Impact
Yeah I made this thread earlier but as I said in the 2015 thread I would not move it here till later-since in the past often when a thread is made this early for stuff like this people complain. Cochofles
1-BVS:DOJ 2-FD 3-CA:CW 4-SS 5-X:A Yep...4 out of the top five biggest hits of the year will be superhero films, methinks.
zackzack
Batman v Superman $550M Finding Dory $450M Rogue One $450M Captain America Civil War $400M X Men Apocalypse $250M Independence Day Resurgence $250M Star Trek Beyond $250M Moana $230M (banner year for animations?) Zootopia $220M Secret Life of Pets $200M Suicide Squad $200M Fantastic Beast $200M How popular is Dr Strange comic? Ant Man numbers should inform us on how to predict Strange. There are also possible surges like Ice Age 5, Panda 3 and Bourne 5. Bourne with Damon back could hit close to $200M again. Warcraft is a possible $200M grosser but the visual campaign look very unimpressive so far. XMen Apocalypse & ID Resurgence could do higher in the $300M range but first, let's see those visuals in the trailers first.... I like the look of Suicide Squad but the super-dark tone make this one look like more Purge Anarchy than superhero. Anyone predicting $300M for this one is disregarding the fact that younger kids may stay away. Edited July 17, 2015 by zackzack

Kalo
These Rogue One predictions seem a bit outrageous to me Maybe, maybe not, It's the first star wars spinoff ever, if SW7 is gigantic and well liked, it is very possible Rogue One could be the #1 film of the year.. either way I see $300m as the floor for it. I wouldn't say 300M as the floor but I think its a likely milestone
Avatree
My #1 is not even in anyone else's top ten... 1) The Jungle Book 2) Captain America: Civil War 3) Finding Dory 4) Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice 5) Moana 6) Rogue One 7) Ghostbusters 8) X-Men: Apocalypse 9) Doctor Strange 10) Warcraft

I can see it being in the top ten, but ahead of BVS, Civil War, Dory, and Star Wars? No way.
Chinoiserie
1. Civil War 2. Batman V. Superman 3. Finding Dory 4. Moana 5. Independence Day 2 6. Rogue One 7. Fantastic Beasts 8. Secret Life of Pets 9. X-Men Apocalypse 10. Warcraft Edit. Independence Day 2 could perform similarly (but not as well) as Jurassic World. But it and Warcraft is really wildcards, I just think the audiences want more than superheroes all the time so some films could surprise. And next year should be a good one for animation if the films do not hurt each other, there are so many of them.
