It looks good and grand. Will Smith as the Genie is the bright spot. Naomi Scott as Jasmine is beautiful. The CGI needs a little tweaking though.

but those COSTUMES. Man, that makes it look like some Gods of Egypt-level shit. And I really think that "look" is going to hurt this film. Who knows where this ends up; if it truly is awful I can see a world where it does Prince of Persia numbers, but I could also honestly see it still doing like an 80/250 run. Gonna entirely depend on how general audiences take to it. 

 

As someone who was just looking at PoP....honestly, scenery-wise, THAT looks better than THIS.

Yikes.

I have been championing this film for the longest time and encouraging people to give it a chance...but damn...that looks awful. This film was always going to live or die on the genie (on who would play him and how they would look). The casting of Smith gave me hope, but the look of the Genie is just cringe inducing...
