Fake
Furthermore according to the-numbers, THG apparently sold 27-28k this week (because it is below the rank 10 movie which sold 29k). That would be a 62% drop in week 7! Sorry but that just doesn't happen. Movies start dropping 10-15% by now, maybe Avengers would have caused it to drop 30-40% but 62%? No.Also, if Avengers indeed sold 3.4m, then the #20 movie would have sold 8k. But during the last 1 year, the minimum a # 20 movie has sold for any week is 11k. lab276
THG has already sold way more copies than I expected it to, I hardly think it's failed or done wrong in any way. It also grossed more and sold more on home video than even you thought it would so come on, get off its back.

I agree. It seems that The Numbers have gone totally haywire since TA release.

druv10
The-numbers has lost it. Their DVD figures seems right, but Blu-ray figures for every film seems wrong. For example, if Avengers sold 2.086m DVDs, then with the 72% BR share reported, it would calculate to 5.37m BRs.If TDKRp1 sold 60.5k DVDs, then with 71% BR share reported, it would calculate to 148k BRs.Problem is Disney isn't going to give us an update so we're stuck with numbers.com. lab276
lol, did you read his post?Yes I did, actually, and I interpreted it as a slight against THG given Fake's history with it. Nevertheless, I apologise for the misunderstanding.
John Marston
What? Those are absolutely shitty numbers!! FUCK THE HOME VIDEO MARKET. Only kids movie and book adaptation movies sell good these days
ecstasy
The problem is that Avengers sales have been pumped up so high that everybody was expecting knockout numbers. These numbers are good but it is a huge let down when something else was expected.

Maybe it's worth communicating with The Numbers to ask for a clarification. Their e-mail address is: corrections@the-numbers.com

vc2002
As I said... HM sales for male centric movies or action movies have fallen off a cliff. How Can TF2 sell 13-14 million copies in 2009 and TF3 sells less than 7 million in 2011? Not just those, but the entire home market. Since 2010 only two films sold over 10m units of DVD. 10m would be a rather average number just a couple of years ago.
