Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle | December 22 2017 | Special showings for Amazon Prime members on December 8

Spoiler

But what about the dice rolling, the game figures moving by themselves and reading the scary scenarios? No jumanji without that.

Jumanji made it to 100m dom in 1995. That was huge. Even after 20 years of inflation CI, GB, BAD MOMS etc. are not much ahead with <130m.

It was still making 1m over the weekend when it reached 98m so had room for more than 100m easily with late legs in those times.

But it was the vhs era and I am sure by 100m it must have  been predicted to make a killing in video sales. So they probably pulled it out of theaters.

Perfect release date. A fun family action adventure, comedy and fantasy movie starring The Rock, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Nick Jonas during Christmas season. Moreover, based on a fairly well known 90s movie. This could be NATM type box-office hit as long as reviews aren't atrocious.

It's the perfect counterprogramming to the Uber nerdy star wars. Will easily beat stat wars 8 in India because of The Rock+Jumanji+Sony combo.

Its good to see that studios are not running scared from Star Wars. It helps that the Episode 8 is going to have a big drop from the previous installment.

Alvin, Daddy's Home, Sisters and The Big Short all did well enough alongside Episode VII so as long as you go for a specific target and don't put a 4 quad against it you'd be fine even if it doesn't drop
