I hope in a twist (forgive the pun) for which Split gets an early limited release in December, although the only chance for the Awards consideration might be James McAvoy as Best Actor, who apparently brought apparently an Oscar-worthy performance.

When was the last time an actor was nominated for a performance in a horror movie? It would be really epic, tbh.

Depp for Sweeney Todd has to be the closest in recent history. Before him, Dafoe in Shadow of the Vampire and Toni Collette and Haley Joel Osment in The Sixth Sense.

Di Caprio and Essie Davis were snubbed for Shutter Island and The Babadook respectively.

I wish they were giving this a qualifying run and had put up a campaign for McAvoy in Best Actress because the campy actressing he's doing in the previews is off. the. charts. lmao.

Aliens had some horror moments.

It'd be Actor.

Linda Hunt won supporting actress for playing a man.

According to a french interview of MNS It costed between 5 and 10m$.

Then it will definitely make a profit, considering also the good reviews and the fact the trailers were actually pretty damn intriguing.

"The Visit" made something like $60M domestic and $100M worldwide, so I suppose "Split" will do around those numbers too.

So, there's been quite a lot of TV spots over here in the last couple of days about it and I'm pretty sure they spoiled the crap out of this movie for me, meh.

I know a lot of people who are really not happy at the premise of this movie.  Mental illnesses are a really cheap and easy potshot for horror movies and villain characters.  It'd be nice if the writers of this actually knew even the basics of what they were talking about.  I mean I know one shouldn't always expect accuracy in the media, but it's not that hard with most things.

Word of mouth by critics is so far more encouraging than what The Vist was at the fall of 2015. It should bring in some decent business next weekend. I would like to see a debut between $25-$30 million and make $75-$80 million domestic. Which would be a nice profit for Universal!
