BoxOfficeZ
Having played the games... Mark Wahlberg acts more like Drake than Sully. Confusing.
Mango
Yeah I’m not really feeling this. Maybe I’ll be surprised come February, but this just doesn’t look like an Uncharted movie to me. I enjoy watching both Holland and Marky Mark but knowing the characters they’re supposed to be playing this just seems off. Not to mention the CGI is looking rough, though understandably that can change within a few months. Regardless, the games were pretty grounded in terms of set pieces. You could have replicated or done homage to tons of scenes and locations from the games with practical effects/minimal CGI and focused on some Bond-style international scenery porn to wrap up the package. This just looks like a generic action movie.
Krissykins
Chaos Walking 2. All jokes aside, everything about this looks horrendous. Edited October 21, 2021 by Krissykins
TheDude391
Why was this ever a young Nathan Drake movie to begin with? It would’ve been like starting the Indy series when he was 17, inexperienced and always messing up, the series wouldn’t have made it much further. That’s not particularly fun, I wanna see cool, jokey and confident Drake, experienced and weathered treasure Hunter. I don’t think Tom even smiled once the entire time, woefully miscast across the board.
The Wild Eric
This is the only Uncharted movie I want
cookieleeann
I'll be surprised if this doesn't flop. I feel like the hype for an Uncharted movie been passed. It's weird how 2017 Jumanji film feels more like an Uncharted film to me than whatever I've seen here so far.
SnokesLegs
Eh…. Aside from the woeful miscasting (although that probably won’t matter too much to the general audiences who have never played the game), it looks generic as hell. Mark Wahlberg does seem unusually restrained though, he seems like he maybe actually did his homework on Sully and isn’t just playing him as Marky Mark, just a shame he’s far too young for it. Spidey Freak
Why'd they have to edit the first two clips like that with Marky Mark meeting Tom at a bar and then Marky Mark with Tom at home undressed? It feels like the start of a Judd Apatow romcom from the 00's.
Dementeleus
Who is this movie for? It seems simultaneously hyper-specific and incredibly generic.

Morieris
I'm not familiar with Uncharted all that much but I'm beginning to think this Tom fellow doesn't have a lot of range outside of the MCU's character writing. But I'm also not sure this warrants emotional range with how generic it looks. Edited October 21, 2021 by Morieris
ZeeSoh
Trailer was ok I guess, but without the title and the names I would have thought it is just some other generic action movie. The set pieces from the games looked cool but apart from that nothing stood out. I was very disappointed that the iconic Nate's theme from the game did not make an appearance. That being said I am still excited for this movie as I am a huge fan of the game series (second fav after the TLOU series). If anyone has not seen the Uncharted fan film with Nathan Fillion in it then you should. That looks so so much better. He would have been perfect as Drake.

The big thing about Tom Holland is that he has too much...theater kid energy (Makes sense. He started his acting career in musicals). His general awkward and "adorkable" mannerisms and appearance don't really exude the "action star" mold Hollywood keeps forcing him into. I mean it makes sense why people want Spider-Man to do action stuff, but at least with that character he's playing a nerdy kid forced into superheroics. It's not really the same as Nathan Drake or Cherry or whatever. If you give him something that's more comedic or silly, he would probably thrive in that area. Basically, he's stuck in the career path Nicholas Hoult was in for a while before he was allowed to be weird in stuff like The Favourite.
CoolioD1
he's ok but one note. i haven't seen any evidence he has range yet. not a problem if the character is just fun charismatic action hero lead but like I said in the trailer he just seems checked out.
