Universal’s thriller has now climbed to $126.6 million overseas and $167.35 worldwide. Everest has two more releases: China on November 3 and Japan on November 6. Universal’s action film opened in China and Japan this weekend, its final two territories. China opened Tuesday and has grossed a disappointing $11.6 million in 6 days, while Japan debuted with a 3-day $1.4 million cume, on par with Captain Phillips. The offshore gross is now $155.3M for a worldwide total of $198.4M. The China total is now $15.4M and Japan is holding strong in its second weekend at No. 2.
