GODZILLA vs. KONG | March 31 2021 | Adam Wingard to direct

Recommended Posts

Was hoping August 7th.

July 17th has WB's own Tenet. July 14th Jungle Cruise.

Skip July 31st to have some gap if you will and then August 7th looks promising.

NOOOO. I booked Music Man tickets for November 12 on the premise I was gonna get a two weeks engagement of Eternals IMAX meaning I could see it at Lincoln Square. Fuck this. why not November 17th. 🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪

The march date was good. Why did they move it?

It was gonna get slaughtered by Mulan. After KOTM was cockblocked by Aladdin, WB and Legendary finally learned their lesson on not slating a MonsterVerse movie around a Disney live action remake (Godzilla 2014 and Kong struggled against Maleficient and Beauty and the Beast).

Also This November release date for sure means reshoots, which I don’t mind because Adam Wingard is shit and I have no faith in him. I had faith in Dougherty and look where that got us, so imagine what this hack would do to Godzilla and King Kong. Bring in Nolan for reshoots please.

Nov 11 is a wednesday, seems like a weird time for a mid-week opening.  Wouldn't Nov 20 be more likely, there's nothing big on that date right now except Untitled Amblin Project and Untitled WB Event Film #2.

Yeah good thing you mentioned that

I hope the Wrap did a typo because WB has a clear and empty available spot on the 20th, a Friday nonetheless and 2 weeks after Eternals.

Why not release it two days later on Friday the 13th ? Wednesday is a weird release date

I assume this is a joke. I love me some Christopher Nolan, but not only is that most likely never going to happen, it probably wouldn’t be the best decision.
