Hidden Figures is going to crush The Great Wall next weekend.

Well, it didn't crush The Great Wall but it did open at #1

 

HF is now at AUD4.81m including previews.

Hidden Figures and Lion were two of the more disappointing Oscar nominees imo.

Is it just me.....or does the OS-gross for "Hidden Figures" seem to look rather disappointing or downright low for a movie like this?

 

I mean, don't get me wrong, $21M OS for this film isn't too terrible since it has a $25M budget. But it seems that this

film is doing softly overseas, compared to how it did DOM-wise with $144M.

 

Probably could take a while for it to reach $200M WW.

The story obviously resounds way more with the American culture and people than with other cultures. It's not like NASA or the way races relationship are portrayed is something present in other countries outside of North America.

 

For me Hidden Figures was a fun movie with a nice message but that's pretty much that. Not even close to my top 10 of 2016.
