But with Bay or no Bay? I really hope Paramount gives other directors the chance.

Probably without Bay, they'll probably choose another critically acclaimed director like with the Bumblebee movie. It's good for them to hire those directors for a cinematic universe.

I suspect that everything planned for TF6 is now up in the air with what is happening with TF5.

I'm guessing they'll go ahead with the Bumblebee movie but wait to see how that does before deciding what's next.

With how awful TF5 is performing I can't see them going through with this.

It's not performing awful at all.  It will be a steep fall but still make profit for Paramount.

A $69M opening is terrible when you compare it to any of the previous films openings. It'll fall more than $100M short of T4's total. The franchise is near dead in the U.S. which means they will have to rely on the overseas numbers to make their budget back.

And this series is made for an overseas audience...and you said it yourself....IF YOU COMPARE IT TO THE PREVIOUS FILMS.  But if you don't, and you look at it as a fifth film in a series that will make about 700 million, it's not so bad.

Its going to make less money the first, with a bigger budget, more backends to pay out, and its going to bring in a lower % of revenue on that gross.

if we cant say Transformers is doing bad, then we cant say any movie has done bad. Can we also stop and take note that not all money is equal. China money is worth 60% less  than US money and even way way more so when you tie in post theatrical revenue. This is also going to do like 1/6th the original trilogy on home video too probably.

Everything does less now on HV

They still have investors in it so they still might be taking more than the norm.

We don't know what the final gross is.

700 million is less, no doubt, but it's still enough to make a profit.
