It's already there. Memorial Day is May 31st (Monday), this comes out May 28th.

That doesn't look like a movie kids would watch so it's really weird to suggest this, the target is definitely adults and that's big enough to succeed.

You're right - this is targeting a different audience, but it's not kids vs adults...it's men vs women.

This is aiming more for teens and older with the PG-13 rating so young children won't make up be a huge segment of the movie's audience. Guessing in normal times this would've opened with $50-60M over the 4-day weekend.

Good news for Cruella: France will reopen its theaters on May 19, with a gauge of 35% and with a curfew at 9PM but it's better than nothing. Release on May 26 in France, 2 days before the US.

 

Black Widow will benefit from the end of gauges (100%) and no curfew so a full release!

Raya's reviews dropped four days before its simultaneous launch so most likely a similar embargo with this.
