PanaMovie
A $37M offshore weekend in 40 markets takes the total on Paramount/Skydance’s latest entry in the franchise to $131.1M.China was the clear leader at $31.3M and on the heels of a strong local marketing push engineered with Chinese investors Alibaba and Huahua. There were five other openings this session including Brazil where the Enterprise was No 2 with $1.7M at 479 locations and 211% over STID. Venezuela also bested the main comp by 684% (and Star Trek by an astonishing 3701%) despite opening at No. 4. STB took $1.4M at 70 sites. Korea ($8.9M cume), France ($4.9M) and Spain ($2.6M) were all in their 3rd frames. Argentina and Mexico beam up next weekend and Japan joins the crew on October 21. TalismanRing
Quote Venezuela also bested the main comp by 684% (and Star Trek by an astonishing 3701%) despite opening at No. 4. STB took $1.4M at 70 sites. Paramount is so full of shit. STB sold 12,601 tickets opening w.e. That comes down to $111.1 per ticket. They're using an exorbitantly different exchange rate than every other studio. It's why they have TMNT: Shadows with $7m+ and by the biggest film of the year in Venezuela (more than double Dory) even though it sold a fraction of the tickets as Dory. Dory sold over 930k tickets - with the same exchange rate Paramount is using for STB that would be $103.23m instead of the $3,287,509 Disney reported It's Paramount's new improved "Puerto Rico". The majority of its weekend haul came from an $11.3m second session in China as it retained the top spot and reached $53.3m, while it added $1m in Brazil for a local tally of $3.6m and opened in Panama with a chart-topping $530k from 100 sites. Its final release comes in Japan on Oct 21. Source: ScreenDaily Hum so it hit Hands of Stone hard here in Panama 200M+ OS 159M+ DOM
trifle
Quote First Details on STAR TREK BEYOND Blu-ray Features We’re still awaiting Paramount’s official announcement on the release of STAR TREK BEYOND on home video, but today we have our first idea of the bonus features expected to accompany the newest Trek film, from the UK’s film rating commission. Similar to the MPAA of the United States, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) rates movies and home media releases for audiences in the UK, including ratings for the Value Added Material (VAM) – aka bonus features – that accompanies DVD and Blu-ray releases in that region. While there’s no mention of any audio commentary track, the BBFC have rated two discs worth of VAM for the upcoming release. (Note: this list remains unconfirmed and subject to change until Paramount makes their official release announcement.) The first disc of content clocks in at just over an hour, and includes about a minute of deleted scenes along with ten other features. 01:00 – DELETED SCENES10:05 – BEYOND THE DARKNESS04:28 – ENTERPRISE TAKEDOWN08:13 – DIVIDED AND CONQUERED05:12 – A WARPED SENSE OF REVENGE03:03 – TREKKING IN THE DESERT05:59 – EXPLORING STRANGE NEW WORLDS08:01 – NEW LIFE AND NEW CIVILIZATIONS07:48 – TO LIVE LONG AND PROSPER05:01 – FOR LEONARD AND ANTON05:10 – GAG REEL The first disc’s content also looks to be included in the iTunes digital release of the film, which is previewed now on that streaming service’s BEYOND listing. TalismanRing
Is Japan it's last territory? If so, I don't see how it passes the first one WW and Tarzan's $355m is iffy. ST09 did $6m and STID $10.8m

KGator
After Japan it will probably end up in the $340-345 million WW range. Even if it does as well as STID in Japan it's still not getting to Tarzan's $355m.
