BIGGEST THEATER DROPS
Wide Releases That Lost the Most Theaters in Their Third Weekends

Most of the time, theaters are obligated to show a movie for two weeks. What they do when that time's up speaks to a picture's traction in the marketplace.
1982-Present

Note: This chart only shows the 200 largest drops regardless of sorting.

I rolled out for movies like Meet Dave and The Seeker on opening day. I wish I could give a quality assessment but I remember nothing from them. Last Stand is fun. Mortdecai is bliss, the rest are bad. winter's tale the only one that can cross over into fun bad, though that depends on the circumstances of your viewing.

The Seeker is trash. Blackhat has some serious edition and sound mixing problems. The Walk is fantastic.

I saw part II and III in 1989/90.   I never saw the first one on the Big Screen cause it came out when I was 5 years old, only saw it on home video.   So happy it topped the charts on "Back to the Future Day".   That's amazing a movie is so timeless it tops the charts 30 years later.  The original was the highest grossing movie of 1985 as well.
