It's a heartbreaking moment of loss and played that way. There is nothing played insincerely in the first Captain America movie. It's a heart on your sleeve movie, with a lead so earnest that some find it corny or dull. There's wit in the movie and some in the performance but it never smirks or undercuts it's leads heart and core deep goodness. I find it difficult to believe any one who's actually watched the Captain American movies would describe them as them as insincere, particularly the performance and treatment of the lead character. Seriously, everything that comes out of Steve's mouth in that first movie is like borderline corny boy scout dialogue and the movie never plays it like a joke, it never makes fun of him for being patriotic and saintly. It's just who he is. If that's not sincere, then idk what your definition is. The first Thor is sometimes played for laughs when he arrives on Earth (but that's also done in Wonder Woman when she leaves the island - typical fish out of water jokes), but everything on Asgard is taken pretty seriously. The movie isn't like inviting you to laugh at these weird looking Scandinavian Gods when they're on Asgard. It's played like some serious Shakespearean drama. Plus, the Groot/Rocket aspect of Guardians could not have been as popular and affected audiences so much if there wasn't sincerity to it, no matter how ridiculous the concept was. Congrats to all! Hamill over Jackman is baffling. Also Tom Holland is 22, so I'm not sure why he's still being grouped into "younger actor". Valonqar
Young Actor is BS category just to have more categories. Should have been Breakthrough in which case no need to put Holland in it cause he should compete for Best Actor. Breakthrough would be for Keen, IT kids, Letitia. Pure Spirit
10 years of buildup only to fall significantly short of a 9-year-old movie at the world wide box office sure has made a lot of people salty, especially @Rebeccas and @eddyxx. Sad! The MCU are all nihilistic, insincere, quippy, popcorn-munching action-comedies, to the last! Most of them are forgettable and mediocre! Fact! That's why in 19 movies they haven't won a single Oscar and Cameron movies have collected 21 Oscars over 7 movies. In case anyone FORGOT, here's a still from the best-reviewed Marvel movie of all time: Ooof! Right in the infinity stones! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 1 1 1
