Come on. The first two are the weakest by a mile.

The first two were actually a lot of fun to watch though. Order of the Pheonix didn't feel like a complete movie, Half Blood Prince was mostly about horny teens trying to find someone to bang, and the Deathly Hallows films tried way too hard to be serious. Its much easier to watch a movie through the eyes of innocent kids than edgy teenagers.

Yeah those records ratings and Emmy wins really hurt the brand. :hahaha:

The hurt will only rear it’s ugly head when they try and release another GOT spin off. You’d think people would have learned this after the Star Wars debacle

Good thing HBO produces more than just GOT content then. Succession, Barry, Watchmen, Chernobyl, True Detective, etc;

They cancelled the Long Night prequel because everyone knows how horrible it will end.

House of the Dragon sounds more interesting since there’s a lot to cover from the lore. Still, it would be a miracle for it to win back audiences turned away from GOT season 8.

That's hypothetical and the spin-off isn't GoT. But you said that season 7 "hurt the brand" too. Audiences didn't exactly turn away, rather season 8 became the most-watched drama in the world (destroying all HBO records in the process). The fact that HBO is trying so hard to get a spin-off says it all; even it gets 1/3 of GoT viewers (so better than 10% like Better Call Saul got after Breaking Bad), it would be the most popular show on cable.

Overall GoT was the most popular series of the decade and won the most Emmys ever. The notion that it "hurt the HBO brand" is laughable - whether you liked the ending or not.
