Removing the But the shipping of white relationships over interracial relationships as part of a broad pattern among multiple fandoms is evidence of racism, is quite the editorial choice.

My comment wasn't specifically about star wars, the claim is the same whether you are talking about SW or "multiple fandoms" or whatever. The claim is still, "Shipping white relationships is racist".

From what I understand, Zachary Levi’s Snyder Cut comments were made back in October, and he was simply answering a question. I don’t know why it took until now for those comments to make waves, but the Internet can be very stupid. I wouldn’t take that as a strike against the movement.

Disney is infiltrated badly and I am afraid for 2020's MCU to be honest.

I agree and said the same earlier in this thread. Watch this space over the next few years.

I predict ridiculous shoehorning of "progressive" socialist politics into Disney movies because they actually think it's trendy/cool to virtue signal, and since MCU are the gold standard at the box office and the biggest draw card, they will suffer first and the hardest.

Funny how the side that accuses everyone of being "snowflakes" is the one most triggered by any representation.

I don't mind there being representation of groups other than straight white males, whatever. I just don't like it being at the expense of everything else, including a good plot, a coherent narrative and character development that is consistent with world building rules concerned, along with decent dialogue. Is that so hard? Because currently it seems to be. The SW Disney trilogy being an easy example of the aforementioned.

Movies like Alien, Ex-machina,  Kill Bill, Wonder Woman, Little Women, City of God, Hanna, Get out, Blade etc. All of which I enjoyed, are actually good films and the protagonists work well in the storyline which makes sense. Just to name a few off the top of my head.

Why does everything in this thread have to lead back to something politically charged?

It's called "The US Is in one of the worst constitulonal crisis in our history and probably more divided then anytime since the Civil War".

I have not seen socialist politic s in isney movies....unless you consider equal rights for all and the idea that bigotry is bad to be "socialist ideas".

I love the idea that equal rights for Blacks, Women and the LGBT community is now considered to be evil Commie stuff.

For people old enough (if there is on this message board?), how does it compare versus the conscription time of the Vietnam war ? I imagine that recent and current common enemy of WW2 and the cold war created some form of unity

Protesters were regularly getting shot in the 60's and 70's. Also, political leaders and one president.

Anyway, this thread is supposed to be about franchise stuff. We should be talking about the insane award run of Joker, that is finally making CBMs respectable.
