I wish all movies could be as mediocre as Avatar. None of the above moments rely being visually beautiful. It's difficult to think of anything in Marvel/Sequel-Wars with a single scene as emotional and authentic as those. And +1 to what @IronJimbo said, we praise other movies all the time.

It's one of the internets greatest hypocrisies to nitpick Avatar for being unoriginal (dances with smurfs) then go to big up the latest sws or marvel film

Not really! They had smaller ships following the flagship through hyperdrive, why didn't they just launch one of those into the Star Destroyer? They got blown up and knew they were going to die.

Yeah, GTA should definitely be on there for example. GTA V alone is approaching 100 million copies sold worldwide. And that's at $60 a pop.

Sam Worthington had neither too much nor too little charisma for the role. He had precisely the amount of charisma the role required. JC wanted you to be able to self-insert as his character. Sam was your Avatar.
