better than one piece

When you think about it, it’s actually kind of amazing that TLA managed to make over $100 million domestically and over $300 million worldwide, despite having absolutely atrocious critical and audience reception. If the movie had actually been good, it probably would’ve made enough money to justify a trilogy.

Yeah it made a decent amount of money all things considered. M. Night deserves a special place in hell for botching the movie.  Hopefully Netflix will manage to do something good with it. The Avatar universe is so fantastic and the possibilities are endless.

Cringe, this is for kids

And yet it has more soul and emotion than James Cameron's Avatar. Something being primarily aimed at kids doesn't mean it can't be amazing (Lion King eg.) The Avatar finale had me in tears. It gets better and has more meaning the older you get.

are you even allowed to call TLA Avatar anymore? TLoK always seemed to dodge that title

Avatar: The Last Airbender is not a subset of a larger "Avatar" trademark, but an entire title. Nickelodeon didn't bother trademarking the word "Avatar" because they & Bryke didn't anticipate a sequel series until 2010.

So in 2009, James Cameron swooped in and took the larger "Avatar" trademark.

Fast forward three years, and TLOK can't be called "Avatar: The Legend of Korra" because it would imply Nickelodeon owns the larger "Avatar" trademark... which they don't.

After reading this thread and the Avatar 2 thread, in recent weeks its become clear that the ultra Cameron/Avatar fanboys just aren't the same anymore after their empty CGI tale lost the only thing it had to a thoroughly corporate product that at least had one memorable thing about it, Thanos.  The ones who haven't been banned or ragequit and packed their bags for pandora just aren't posting with that fire and passion anymore with Thanos snapping their BO record.

This was a good victory.

A moment of silence for JCS.

You also predicted that Alita would gross over a billion. Take a seat.
