Week 3: Simionski continues his ride without any new Waves making an impact....

For the 2nd weekend running, thanks to mostly Ride Along 2, Simionski has held onto the top spot with nearly 17m.  He was barely ahead of the fast finishing Grey Ghost who nearly pipped him thanks to his dirty little investment (Dirty Grandpa).  Lucasbenica moved back up 2 spots into 3rd on the back of his investment in the Boy which is already making a profit (like the forest did earlier in the month).  Jajang (me) moved back into the top 5 riding a wave up into 4th spot (from 7th) barely slipping by Wrath who rounded out the top 5.  We already have 1 film closed too with the Masked Saint finishing it's run losing nearly 95% of it's budget.

Next weekend could become quite a battle with BourneFan#1 and Jajang with substantial investments in KFP3  likely to take the win while Grey Ghost, Wrath both have invested in Fifty shades of Black  which should also do reasonable and could even break out.....

Updated January (Monthly) Revenue Chart

(not final as there is still a few more days to play but looks like Simionski will take out January for the 2016 game at this point. though I get the feeling that Kung Fu Panda 3 (BourneFan#1 & me) will have a impact on who wins the month.  The chart also included the Revenue column which if you are wondering has the biggest impact on who wins the game out of all the various scoring mechanisms......  To give you a clue winners in previous years have a Total Revenue well in excess of 1.5B with the previous highest ever over 3.6B over the entire year - yes you read that right......

Here it is

Week 4 : BourneFan#1 Kung Fu's Simionski off the top ......

After a 2 week atop the Weekend Chart, Simionski fell away with no new investments this week dropping out of the top 5.  In his place, BourneFan#1 took the spot from outside the top 5 with a strong 23.5m mainly on the back of a Kung Fu Panda 3 investment.  2nd went to Jajang (me) also as a result of KFP making just shy of 16m.  lucasbenica was steady in 3rd with 15m.  Wrath and Grey Ghost rounded out the top 5.

Overall for the month, it was BourneFan#1 who took the honours with over 72m to his name to date.  He barely pipped Simionski who had owned the top spot for much of the month.  Grey Ghost, lucasbenica and Jajang all rounded out the top 5. with various investments.

Week 5 : All Hail Simionski.....

@Simionski managed to return to the top of the weekend after a brief hiatus mainly due to his investment in Hail, Caesar!  Still while a good result and he should see a profiit from this  film, the box office in general is fairly quiet.... but is it the quiet before the storm... (more on that in a second).  @BourneFan #1 dipped back to 2nd spot with his holderovers keeping him in place.  @Wrath jumped into 3rd thanks to a part investment in Caesar.  @JJ-8 had a piece of PPZ in 4th spot while @lucasbenica held onto 5th with holdovers....

The box office this weekend only tallied 79.5m which is our weakest weekend excluding the very first weekend where there was limited investments made so far.  That should be a about to change with all 3 films fully invested in for the President's Day long weekend.  (Please note i will only track the 3 day for the weekend charts but ALL grosses will continue to be included in your overall revenue as always)

Anyway here is this weekends chart:-

wow... Deadpool is gonna be a big winner for:  (even though teh budget has bumped up slightly to 58m as per BOM)

Wrath (100%), lucasbenica (100%), Me (50%) and The Panda (50%)... nearly covered the budget in 1 day.... the bulk of the earnings should be in before BVS is available too...

HTBS budget has been bumped up to 38m.  (it's within the limits so it stands)  should manage to get +ve by the end of it's run but its not as strong as hoped.

Zoolander 2 budget stays as is... and not looking good for a +ve return on this one....

Week 6 : Deadpool's Wrath nails lucasbenica......

As expected, Deadpool topped the Valentine's Weekend.  However it was with a massive bang that is exploded is a showering of records. Thanks to this, @Wrath led the chart for the first time pipping @lucasbenica at the post.  Wrath took in 144m which was a new February record for the game beating the previous high of( @The Dark Alfred's 90.5m back on the same weekend in 2010). Lucasbenica also handily beat the record making his the 2nd highest february weekend with 136m.  @JJ-8 (me) pulled down nearly 78m over the weekend.  We welcomed @The Panda into 4th spot for the first time in the game this weekend with 69m.  @Simionski was able to round out the top 5 with 25m.  @CJohn finally returned to the charts this weekend down in 7th place.

Given Deadpool is dominating so much at the moment it is expected that the top 4 will likely holdover to next weekend as the same top 4 (maybe an order change depending on what other films they are invested in).

Anyway here is this weekends chart (3 day weekend only).....

** oh and both of our top 2 this weekend now figure in the all time top weekends for the game - 13th and 15th spots.  Both are also strong chances to take the February overall crown ever (which currently stands at 280m (Alfred again).  of course the presidents day weekend record has fallen also... :P

Game over. There will be more next year. See you guys in December. How to be Single's budget increased way too much. I don't even have money to cover that wtf.

This advantage is so unfair that it is no fun to play anymore.

I think you're really underestimating me and lucasbenica's chances of screwing this up.

Eh, maybe. I've already spent a bunch, though, so even if I do have the money it'll take almost everything I have. And then if it and Zootopia come in below expectations, and folks who avoid it use their money to pick up little, profitable pics like Cloverfield and The Witch and the like, you could catch up by the end of March.

Most likely wrath and Lucas will most of their cash on BVS. Opens up potential such as the jungle book in April. There r no doubt others. Also I'm still not totally convinced BVS will destroy records. Nothing is certain Cjohn. Missing 1 film doesn't mean u r gone. There will be other surprise hits this year. Maybe xmen will over perform. Dory could blow us away. BVS muddling and civil war disappoints. This advantage just means u need play it carefully. Smart investments can be just as good as 1 massive investment. Anyway who says Lucas or wrath go all in for BVS. ;)
