Commercially, Adele is on a different plane than any other pop artist right now.  Even T Swift.  1.11 million digital downloads of 'Hello' first week SHATTERING the record from 2009 of 636k.  It's already moved over 200,000 records in PRESALES and most forecasters are putting 25's first week sales somewhere between 1.3 and 1.8 million breaking the record for highest first week sales from a female (breaking Britney Spears Oops I Did It Again record).  Sam had a great year but Adele is truly in a league of her own.

The fact that 21 went DIAMOND in the climate the music industry is in still shocks the hell out of me.

I'm a huge fan of both Smith and Adele but I think Writings on the Wall's chorus is SO weak.  Adele nailed Skyfall though.

Yes, I know all the statistics regarding Adele. Actually 25 is expected to sell 2m+ in its first week alone in the US, when no album even came close to that number this year. The target is now *NSync first week record of 2.4m. Like you said, Adele is in a whole different level from any other artists.

So I knew Sam Smith's song wouldn't be as sucessful as Skyfall. But I think he's the singer with the highest profile at the moment that they could possibly get to sing the bond song. I love both songs btw.

HT2 held up really well and is now at $161M DOM. Adam Sandler should be happy. :D

Highest grossing Adam Sandler movie, DOM-wise is the one that has held the record for 16 years, and will soon be topped...."Big Daddy"..with $163M DOM.

If HT2 outgrosses Big Daddy.....it'll be Sandler biggest movie ever so far.

But....speaking of Sandler films...Pixels is Sandler's 5th biggest film WW....just behind the 2 HT films and the 2 "Grown Ups" films.

I've seen those 2 million estimates and I just don't see how.  I mean it would be incredible but I just can't fathom that in the digital age.  I know a lot of her fanbase still buys physical product but for now I'm going with 1.5.

Why do I keep seeing this $88m narrative for Skyfall when comparing it to Spectre.  It's silly.  The $2.2m Skyfall made in IMAX on Thur isn't any different from the IMAX $ they made this time on Thur with Spectre.
