lilmac
TFA has the biggest OW minus the Thursday previews. In other words, if you take all Thursday previews away from all movies, TFA is still #1.JW: $208.8 million - $18.5 million (Thursday previews)=$190.3 million (4274 theaters)TFA: $248 million-$57 million = $191 million (4134 theaters) Avengers1: $207.4 million - $18.7 million = $188.7 million (4349 theaters) Harry 7.2 $169.2 million - $43.5 million=$125.7 million (4375 million) So yeah, there's your apples to apples comparison taking away ALL Thursday previews. No other movie comes close to these. TFA squeaks by JW but does beat it with pure Friday-Sunday. And that's with less theaters than any of those films. So, domestically, TFA is the champ either way.

Epic for Arclight Hollywood; crazy achievement to top the 42nd St. juggernaut. Great business from Tysons as well, place was packed like I've never seen it. Are the grosses going to be published? I think theaters around here were handicaped by the Boeing IMAX, which has been doing insane business, basically selling out for 24 hours on the weekend. If that theater was part of an AMC or Regal, we'd probably see it in the top 10.

Less theaters is misleading, this had way more shows over Fri-Sun than any of those films, estimated at 198K.
