You might be right about the culture differences, but it doesn't mean we cannot enjoy the movie to the point that it's bombing, because even though it's not doing big numbers, it's not bombing either.

Compared to other Disney animation movies, it IS a bomb in asian markets

Zootopia increased its weekend total in at least three markets.


Weekend 9 of the year (Ended February 28)

Italy: $3,412,507

The Netherlands: $772,001

South Korea: $2,557,114

 

Weekend 8 of the year (Ended February 21)

Italy: $3,124,874

The Netherlands: $578,535

South Korea: $2,050,725

Lol no. It is doing better than Tangled and WIR in Asia. Big Hero 6 was beast in Asia and it underperformed in Europe. Zootopia on the other hand is looking to have atleast a solid run in both Europe and Asia.

I know by checking reservations.

But now there are "official" Trend Numbers by Insidekino.
Mark G. expects 550-675k admissions over the weekend. 

Thursday was worth around 40k.
