Despite Christmas Eve being notoriously weaker than Christmas day, its also already broken that record too. Christmas eve TFA broke any Christmas DAY record. I can't image how it'll perform today.

Wait a minute. TFA's Christmas Eve was bigger than any Christmas Day ever?

Yet another batshit crazy aspect of TFA's incredible run so far.

Man this is so close, all it needs to do is 29,094,473 to take Thursday no opening day record, then it would have had every single day of the week non opening records.

that would have been out of this world, and there may never be another movie to hold that kind of record, still having 4 of the 5 days is crazy.

So if it does 850 mill by January 3rd, there's no way it can make another 550 mill?  I don't think it can either, but is it impossible?

In the land beyond the living, all things are possible.

I just noticed something that's possible: what if the second Saturday comes in higher than the first Saturday? That may look like a fantasy on paper, but look at Avatar's trend. It's second Saturday came out at $28M. Opening Saturday was around $25M.

It's definitely not as likely for TFA, but hey, put Christmas Day at around $56M, then give it a 22% increase on Saturday. Not so unbelievable anymore now, is it?

I thought these $200M second weekends were pipe dreams. But I could understand why some people would predict them.

Still thinking it ends up around $175M, though.

We're living in a world where 175m on 2nd weekend isn't a pipe dream. Wtf!

So If it makes 150 this weekend, that would be about a 48 mill Sunday, for argument sake.  Going by Avatar's weekdays TFA will be the all time domestic gross king by approx January 1st.

Friday looks well under last weekend in Hawaii. I am only basing this on Fandango. There are no sellouts on the island (8-9 Cinemas). One theater does assigned seating so I looked at availablity. Morning to early afternoon showings are 40-50% sold. But evening is like maybe 10%. That said I think Hawaii is a weak market for Star Wars, I just dont think it has the history here it does other places. I should also add that they have a crap ton of showings though. If it was just one every hour there would be some sellouts at the assigned seating venue.

Would really love it if someone who sees hard data can validate my belief that Hawaii is a weak market for TFA.

Bummer. I remember seeing Star Wars a ton of times when I was a kid growing up in Hawaii. A couple times my dad loaded the whole family into the car and we went out to watch it at some drive-in. (I want to say it was out by Pearl City, but it's surely not there anymore.) I think we might have only seen ESB once over there though, but I remember the line stretched all the way around the block. (By the time ROTJ came out, we had moved to the mainland.)

Sherlock's record OD at a X-Mas Day (and highest X-Mas Day ever) is $24.6m => ~ *1.15 = est. SW 7 X-Mas Eve

Avatar had the 2nd highest X-Mas Day = $23.01m => ~ *1.2 = est. SW 7 X-Mas Eve

Old X-Mas Eve record was Avatar's $11.15m => ~ *2.40 = est. SW 7 X-Mas Eve
