Sorry for so long in answering. i have less tickets solds for Avatar  (9.249.850)  and TFA ( 4.961.604) my source is Taquillaespaña.com

greets!

taquillaespana.com (which I think it is a great web) has a problem: it takes numbers from Ministry of Culture web. But I think it has not updated numbers for some films.

Avatar sold that amount during the initial release. But it was re-released again in September 2010 (Special edition), selling another 286,368 admissions. You can look it here:

Avatar

Avatar: Special Edition

taquillaespana.com takes numbers of each film. They take Avatar, and they get the Avatar's number. But Avatar: Special Edition is considered a different film and those data are not added. Same applies to E.T and its 20th anniversary edition or the re-releases of both FOTR and TTT.

Concerning The Force Awakens, I could be wrong, but I think Ministry of Culture is not completely updated. They say this:

The Force Awakens

However, the same Ministry of Culture web uploads every week the weekend numbers reported from comScore. The problem is that the historic is not there. You can get the weekends of the current year, but not from previous years.

I have been collecting them for several years, and the last appearance of TFA in top 50 was on April 8th-10th, 2016 weekend. By then, TFA was at €33,274,236 and 5,002,215 admissions.

Maybe I am wrong and the correct data is the Ministry's web data, but I find a bit strange that comScore had given wrong numbers along the whole TFA's run, since according the historic of weekends, the 4,961,064 figure was reached in February 2016. That would mean that comScore gave wrong numbers for TFA along following 2 months.

Thanks for the deep explanation!!!

It´s funny that even in this digital age there are some different records, maybe is completely impossible to know the real numbers, but we love to know!!!

Joker became 12th films with 1M+ admissions in Ukraine.

"One million" club:

1. Avatar - 1 544 523 admissions

2. Avengers: Endgame - 1 408 286

3. The Lion King (2019) - 1 373 391

4. Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge - 1 243 987

5. The Secret Life of Pets - 1 182 908

6. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle - 1 168 347

7. Avengers: Infinity War - 1 108 030

8. Aquaman - 1 088 018

9. Venom - 1 067 164

10. Suicide Squad - 1 047 985

11. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation - 1 010 605

12.  Joker - 1 001 398

Joker won't improve much, since only 28K ticket have been sold during past week.

Next club member will be Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. It's at 865k admission as of the end of November 10th, 109k tickets been sold last week, it's dynamics better than Joker's. It will inevitably achieve 1M admissions during 6th or 7th weekend just like Joker did.

Maleficent performs great in Russia too, it has already outperformed Joker there and currently at 4th place in yearly boxoffice behind Lion King, final Avengers and local WWII action T-34.

i´ve been some time out of here, with these depressing numbres we had in the last year and a half.
The only exciting thing for me was the Demon Slayer run in Japan, something to remember, for sure!

Let´s see what happens in 2022, i hope can see ypu here and your good posts.

Have a goot time!

And we mustn't forget that for many years Cinetel only covered a part of the Italian theaters (I think only the ones in the 50 biggest cities), and before that date it's practically impossible to know the box office numbers with precision

However I finally managed to find the ranking of the highest grossing movies of all time in Italy that solves the problem of the low theathers coverage of Cinetel from 1994 to 2001 (or from 1994 to 2009 to be more precise 😅), now I'll post the official and the estimated ranking (Link 1, Link 2, alternative Link 2

TOP 10 for Cinetel

€65.7M - Avatar (2010)

€65.4M - Quo Vado? (ITA 2016)

€52M - Sole a Catinelle (ITA 2013)

It's pretty funny that one of the highest grossing movies ever in Poland is called Quo Vadis, here in Italy the second highest ever is Quo Vado (2016) 😄

€40.1M - Il Ciclone (1996)
€38.3M - Fuochi d’Artificio (1997)

€34.6M - Natale sul Nilo (2002)

€33.5M - Pinocchio (2002)

I must also point out that films prior to 2010 have numbers more or less certified by SIAE, while from 2010 onwards Cinetel has reached an accuracy of approximately 95% and Siae has stopped publishing reports. Therefore, for films released in the past decade there is a missing gross that goes from 1% (for action, superhero and 3D movies) to a max of 5% (in particular comedies). Not knowing those numbers with precision it's simply better to keep them that way
